HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-04-2021 Special MeetingMinutes of Fairhope Airport Authority Special Meeting February 4, 2021 The Fairhope Airport Authority met February 4, 2021 at 4:30PM in the Council Chambers at 161 N Section Str eet. Present: Joe McEnerney, Chairman, Will Bruce, Don Lagarde, Chip Groner, Amy Pearson, Vince Boothe and Ja ck Burrell. Also present was Josh Myrick, Attorney. Cynthia A Boothe took the minutes. Review and Approval of repairs to the North Hangar: Remediation-Final Payment to Lanier Construction for the repairs to the North Hangar/ Administration Building: Joe McEnerney stated that he has an invoice from Lanier Construction for the repairs to the North Hangar in the amount of $20,439.12 as well as a wavier of lien for the same amount. He also stated that he has already paid Lanier Construction $75,000.00 for work already completed. Vince Boothe made a motion to withhold the $20,439.12 final payment until the Authority receives all paperwork and waver of liens on all the work that Lanier Construction has done. After a group discussion it was decided that Vince Boothe would withdraw his motion and Joe McEnerney would get all the paperwork and wavier of lien on all the construct ion before the Authority votes to pay the final invoice. Roof Repairs-Proposal for North Hangar/Administration Building: Joe McEnerney stated that he has a proposal from MW Rogers Construction for $20,394.00 to repair the roof on the North Hangar. Vince Boothe made a motion to hire M W Rogers Construction to repair the roof on the North Hangar for up to $30,000.00, second by Chip Groner and unanimously passed. Other Business: Joe McEnerney stated that MW Rogers has been working on the Public Safety Hangar for the last several weeks and he has an invoice for a partial payment of $90,000.00. Vince Boothe stated that they had done that much or more on the hangar and Josh Myrick stated that it should be fine as long as they send a lien wavier. Other Business: Jack Burrell stated that he had been putting numbers together for different types of interest rates and terms for the costs of building the 20 T­ Hangars. He said he just wanted to caution the Authority members to be careful in their decisions about either financing or trying to get grants to build the hangars. The Authority members then had a group discussion about the types of financing they want to pursue. Joe McEnerney recognized Erik Cortinas, City of Fairhope Building Official, who told the Authority members that he was willing to help them any way he could to get their building projects moving forward and to feel free to call on him at any time. There being no further business, a motion was made to adjourn by Chip Groner, second by Will Bruce and unanimously passed.
