October 12 , 2010
I. Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance/Moment of Reflection
On Tuesday, October 12 , 2010 , Chairman Pete Lenoir called the meeting to order at
6 p.m . The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and a moment of reflect ion given .
II. Welcome/Introduction of Members and Guests
Chairman Leno ir welcomed all those in atten dance and recog nized all chartered
members (those who have attended at least three meetings) and any new members .
Ill. Presentations
A. Officer of the Month
Detective Fred King was selected for the Officer of the Month award for the month of
September, 2010 . Duri ng the weekend -of September 11 , 2010 , Detective King was
the on -call investigator and as such , responded to assist patrol in a series of car
burglaries . He closed 11 car burglaries by charging two juveniles and returning all
stolen property to the victims . While handling these burglaries , he still maintained his
normal caseload during the first half of September and made 25 fe lony arrests .
On Septembe r 18 , 2010 , Detective King was temporarily assigned to patrol to help
cover shift shortages . During this short period of time , he was exemplary in his
patrol performance in making 4 misdemeanor arrests . He was also responsible for
making 21 written reports , 1 accident report and he assisted other offic e rs in 13 calls
for service. Detective King also had more than 20 non-service calls (close patrols)
and more than 25 community contacts . He conducted more than 30 traffic stops that
resulted in 16 citations , 6 written warnings , and 6 verbal warnings . He issued more
than 35 parking tickets during the last half of September 2010 . Detective King was
also assigned as Field Training Officer fo r newly hired Officer Jam ie Westbrook .
In addition to the above , Detective King has been instrumental in procuring almost
$1 ,000 ,000 in City assets through the military 's 1033 program . Equipment needs
throughout the City of Fairhope have been satisfied at no cost to the taxpayers . As
such , Detective Fred King was selected as the Officer of the Month for September
2010 .

Member Louie Blaze made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Member Johnny Chaney ,
motion passed unan im ously . The meeting was adjourned at 7 :20 p.m .
