Present were: Stan Grubin, Chairman Members: Lonnie Mixon, Mac McCawley, and James Gillespie. Mayor Kant, Dan Stankoski, and John Gutknecht were absent. Chairman Stan Grubin called the meeting to order at 3 :00 p.m. He announced that the first item is to approve the minutes from the June 24 , 2010 Five Year Capital Requirements Committee meeting. Mr. Grubin, then stated if there are no corrections to the minutes , the minutes stand approved as written. The following topics were discussed: • Sherry Sullivan, Director of Senior Services, passed out a Capital Expenditure Plan she had prepared for this meeting. Then, began her discussion with the Civic Center for the 2011 fiscal year with her number one priority being the fire alarm and sensor upgrade and next the stage floor . Ms. Sullivan briefly went over the rest of her capital requirements li st touching on the most crucial items for the Civic Center. The James P. Nix Center was discussed next with the fire alarm system upgrade also being the number one priority. Mac Mccawley commented we need to renovate to appeal for rentals. Ms. Sullivan briefly went over the rest of her capital requirements list touching on the most crucial items for the Nix Center. Ms. Sullivan then discussed the Fairhope Museum of History with the number one priority being smart boards and in 2012 move the fountain pump. The rest of her capital requirements list was briefly discussed for the Museum. The Welcome Center was also discussed and the number one and two priorities were (1) roof/window replacements and (2) a HVAC unit for 2011. Mac Mccawley commented that it was a shame that these buildings are in the condition these are in and maintenance not done. These should have been maintained.
