Meeting Date: 7121/2110
Place: Police Station
Time: 12 Noon to 1:00 PM
Members Present: Barbara Lawson, Alex Robinson, Stan Grubin, Greg Burroughs, Arthur
Bosarge and Sherry Sullivan.
This was the first Committee meeting of the year 2010. The following topics were discussed:
The 2009 parade Wrap Up minutes were reviewed for problem issues requiring corrective
action.
• Large gaps between floats, marchers and other entrants caused discontinuities that
sometimes detracted from an orderly parade. This year we will focus golf cart riders to
help police this problem.
• Four barricades as shown in the WU minutes were again a problem. We will ask
Captain Pettis for his help with this.
• Lost "little people" should be helped by committee members in golf carts!
The Parade date has changed from first Fridays to first Saturdays in December. Saturday
December i" is this year's parade date.
• This date change coupled with overtime restrictions and the loss of some sanitation
workers creates a serious shortage of parade setup and cleanup people. The Public
Works Supervisors and Sherry Sullivan will develop a plan to cope with this problem
and communicate it to the Committee at our nex,t meeting.
The 2010 Christmas Parade Timeline o[Scheduled Meetings and paperwork deadlines was
approved without changes.

Parade Volunteers
• Once again we need to recruit willing volunteers to act as Parade Marshals. Last year's
high school students were effective and fun workers; Alex, will contact the school
again. All committee members are hereby asked to recruit friends and family.
