The Fairhope Municipal Airport Board met in a called meeting
on Wednesday, December 17, 1975, 3:30 P.M. at the City Admin-
istration Building in Fairhope, Alabama. The following members
were present:
J. Russell Kilgore, Chairman
Sam Box, Member of Board
J. E. Gaston, Member of Board
Guest present were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weese, airport
operators; Mr. M. L. Aust, Aust-Ponder Enginneering.
Chairman Kilgore presented the electric bills paid to Riviera
Utilities by the airport operators, Mr. and Mrs. Weese. The
total for the past 12 months amounted to $3155.99. It was brought
to the attention of the Airport Board that the runway lights,
rotating beacon and VASI lights on the meter of the operators.
It is not the practice of other airports to have the airport
operator pay for this lighting. The Board is to work on the
problem and discuss it with City Council and then make a report
to Mr. and Mrs. Weese.
Mr. M. L. Aust of Aust-Ponder gave a report stating the balance
due to the Airport Board from FAA is $10,46 7.61, this amount is
subjec to audit. A break down on the project is:
$195,668.00 estimated cost
190,523.72 project cost
.5,1414..28 under estimated cost
1,395.20 modification VASI lights
$ 3,749.08 under budget
A motion was offered by Chairman Kilgore to pay the final two
outstanding invoices: FAA ADAP-7-01-0029-01, these invoices are
Mathews Electrical Service $1 , 280.00 and Aust-Pnnder $115.20.
This motion was seconded by Mr. Gaston and all members voted
"Aye". Motion carried.
A motion was offered by Mr.Gaston and seconded by Mr. Box to
authorize Aust-Ponder to prepare preliminary application for
resurfacing of the runways constructed in 1964. Aust-Ponder
will do this without any obligation on the part of the City
Airport.Board, that is if the project is not continued past
phase I. This application wil be submitted to the City Council
and to FAA under the ADA program. The breakdown for the pay-
ing Aust-Ponder if the project is completed is: 1% of estimated
cost, 5% design, 3% inspection total of 9%. All"Ayes"motion carried.
The Airport operator is ask to present to the City Council each
month a traffic count of all traffic using the airport. This
report to have a year to date and monthly total.
There being no other business it was moved and seconded that
the meeting adjourn. Motion made by Mr. and seconded by Mr. Box.

The Chairman of the board is to meet with the City Council at
the next regular meeting. A report of the Airport Board will
be given to the Council at that time.
