Guests Jim Jeffries and Charlie Baumhauer from the American Legion Post #199 brought several
8 x 10 photos of pine trees that are currently near the building and cou ld be the cau se of damage
in the future . Some trees are in the right away and are estimated to be approximately 80-130
1
years old . The gentlemen stressed that the American Legion is a non-profit organization and
would certainly need assistance in the removal of these trees. The committee agreed that a
licensed arborist should review the trees first and further discussion would be needed.
Jennifer Fidler reported the increase of Formosa termites in Fairhope and it is becoming a hazard
to trees . She reported that she would like to see some education to the community concerning
these pests , what to look for , the type of damage they could do , and asked for various ways for
that education to take place. Jim Homer volunteered a member of his committee to work with
Jennifer on that.
There being no further business , the meeting was duly adjourned at 5 : 15 p .m.
