STATE OF ALABAMA )( COUNTY OF BALDWIN )( The City Council met in an Agenda Meeting at 5:30p.m ., Del champs Room, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on Thursday, 6 March 2014. Present were Council President Jack Burrell , Councilmembers: Rich Mueller, Diana Brewer, Michael A. Ford, and Kevin Boone, Mayor Timothy M. Kant, City Attorney Marion E. Wynne, and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks. Council President Burrell called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. The City Council reviewed and discussed the agenda for their meeting to be held today at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Kant explained Agenda Item No. 6: resolution to award bid for Uniforms for the City of Fairhope (Bid No. 007-14). Agenda Item No. 11: resolution to purchase two (2) Chevrolet Caprice Sedans for the Police Department was discussed in detail , along with a proposed resolution for two (2) Chevrolet Tahoes. Council President Burrell announced due to the Tahoes not being on the Alabama State Bid list, the two vehicles will have to be bid out. Mayor Kant suggested that they look at the 2014 and 2015 models before bidding the Tahoes. This agenda item will be pulled from the agenda and will be brought back to the City Council at a future date . Agenda Item No. 13: resolution that Mayor Kant is authorized to execute a contract for Geotechnical Consulting Services for the A TRIP Phase 3 Resurfacing Fairhope Avenue from Section Street to State Highway 181 was discussed. Mayor Kant stated he wanted to strike the Planning Commission and the Fairhope Planning Commission 11.52.11 Rev iew and the Public Awareness Meeting from the Non- Participating Project, but wanted to keep the other two items. Council President Burrell said this would change the total from "not to exceed $90,800.00" to "not to exceed $80 ,800.00 ; and also said we would need to amend the resolution before adopting. The Fairhoper's Community Park Renovations , Agenda Item No. 14, was discussed next. Clay Adams and Sherry Sullivan explained the renovations which came in under budget and showed the new park design. Mr. Adams mentioned a second bid award for the gazebo that will be coming to the City Council. The Baldwin County Board of Education's property and lease were questioned by Councilmember Mueller. Ms . Sullivan replied this project was part of the stipulations that the City had to meet before renewing the lease. Council President Burrell said there is approximately $17 ,000 .00 more to be used out of the funds for the park. Monday, 6 March 2014 Page-2- Gary Gover, resident of Fairhope , addressed the City Council and announced Earth Day Mobile Bay 2014 on Saturday , April19, 2014 , at 10 :00 a .m. which will be held at the Fairhope Pier Park.
