FAIRHOPE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
The Fairhope Municipal Airport Board met Wednesday, September
13, 1972 at the Law Offices of City Attorney, John V. Duck
in Fairhope, Alabama, at 9:00 A.M.
Present: Chairman J. Russell Kilgore, members James E. Gaston,
James P. Nix. Attorney John V. Duck.
Guests: Mr. Roy C. Adams, Mr. Cecil Ward and Mr. M. L. Aust
of Aust Ponder Engineering Company, engineers for the Fairhope
Municipal Airport.
Meeting called to order ip Mr. Kilgore. Business at hand
being appraisal revidw of fly -Aver easement of.lands belonging
to Roy C. Adams.
Mr. Adams stated his cause and requested a payment in the
amount of $8,618.40 for a 3.7 Acre fly -over easement,which
would amount to approximately $2,500.00 per Acre.
Board made offer of $3,000.00 total, allowing -appreciation of
court awarded value in 1968 for present estate, based oh 30%.
Question to Mr. Adams, "would you answer as quickly as possible?"
Mr. Adams answered that Board would hear from him as quickly.as
could.
Mr. Adams was ask if he was aware of easement when he purchased
property. His answer was no.
Clear zone easement of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Bishop discussed.
Mr. Nix moved to purchase same for $700.90. Mr. Gaston seconded,
motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Nix, seconded by Mr. Gaston to recompense Mrs.
Smith $50.00 per month for administrative work which will be
necessary for project ADAP-071002901 run -way extension, sub-
ject to all outside City Hall duties. Motion carried unanimously .
Lease Agreement with Alabama Aircraft Inc., discussed: As agre-
ement is reaching finality Board agreed that CityMtorney enter
into Agreement; changes to be made in tax revenue income, I'ental
of $1.00 plus payment of 3 and 0, ¢ per.gallon
on Aviation gas and jet fuel respectively.
Mr. Aust advised Board that FAA require a resident inspector
for runway extension and referred same to Board to be decided
upon.
Mr. Kilgore reported that two $5,000 checks from Grand Hotel;
One $10,000.00 check from Malcolm P. McLain and one $15,000.00
check from Baldwin County Commission had been deposited into
Airport Fund Checking Account.
There being no further business, motion by Mr. �Nix, seconded
by Mr. Gaston, meeting adjourned.
