HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-18-2017 City Council Meeting MinutesSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at 6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope. Alabama 36532, on Thursday. 18 May 2017. Present were Council President Jack Burrell, Councilmembers: Jay Robinson, Jimmy Conyers, and Robert Brown, Mayor Karin Wilson, City Attorney Marion E. Wynne, and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks. Councilmember Keyin Boone was absent. There being a quorum present. Council President Burrell called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Dr. Eric Hankins, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Council President Burrell stated there was a need to add on two agenda items: one after Agenda Item #5 - Site Plan Review at the request of Century Construction, on behalf of Hunt Hapworth. for approval of Eastern Shore Healthcare Advocacy building - located on the East side or Greeno Road just south of Gayfer Road, at 230 N. Greeno Road; and approved contingent upon conditions recommended by the Planning Commission; and one after Agenda Item No. 21 - a Resolution that expenditure of not to exceed $10,000.00 is hereby approved if necessary to relocate an additional 8-inch water line on County Road 32 east of State Highway 181 to facilitate the Baldwin County storm drain project. Councilmember Brown moved to add on the above-mentioned items not on the printed agenda. Seconded by Councilmember Conyers, motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Councilmember Robinson moved to approve minutes of the 8 May 2017, regular meeting: minutes of the 8 May 2017. work session; and minutes of the 8 May 2017, agenda meeting. Seconded by Councilmember Conyers, motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Mayor Wilson addressed the City Council and recognized National Public Works Week and National Police Work Week. Mayor Wilson stated Assistant Public Works Director Arthur Bosarge was not present, so she would present him the following proclamation at another time:
