The Fairhope Municipal Airport Board met Wednesday, October 4,
1967 at 11:00 p.m., at the Fairhope Airpor t.
Present: Chairman Lacey, members Robertson and Gaston.
Guests; Mr. Marley, President Alabama Aircraft, Inc., Mr.
Y. C. Gulley, Mr. R. Arthur and Mr. James Beck, representing
Alabama Department of Aeronautics.
Mr. Lacey called meeting to order; minutes of previous meeting
being omitted.
Mr. Lacey discussed needed administrative and field house facili-
ties and expansion, bringing out the fact that)prints which are
presently in hands of Board are not leasable for Municip,,al Air-
port needs, but that the $6,000 grant from the State Board could
be used. Mr. Arthur states that grant could be authorized but
that funds would have to be matched by the City or Alabama Air-
craft, Inc., with legal aspects agreed to by City.
Mr. Warley stated that Alabama Air craft, Inc., would match funds
and convey improvements to the City of Fairhope, which facilities
would in turn be leased back to Alabama Aircraft, Inc.
Mr. Gaston stated that the City Council had reached all justi-
fiable limits as to expenditures at Airpor t.
Mr. Gulley suggested that Alabama Aircraft, Inc., secure agree-
ment between City of Fairhope Whereby the City leases pro-
posed facility to Alabama Aircraft. Also to prepare prints and
draft proposed agreement and submit same to Alab� ma Department
of Aeronautics.
Mr. Lacey: How long can grant be held in abyance?
Mr. Gulley: Until Board works out needs and agreements and
submits same to Alabama Department of Aeronautics.
At this point ,plandj and specifications were reviewed. Suggested
needs and changes discussed.
Traffic at airport was discussed. Alabama Department of Aero-
nautics agrees facilities are needed to accommodate flyers and
guests.
