COUNTY OF BALDWIN )(
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at
5:30 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Thursday, 4 December 2003.
Present were Mayor Pro -Temp Michael A. Ford, Councilmembers: Robert C.
Gentle, Debbie W. Quinn, Pauline Anders, and Cecil Christenberry; City Attorney
Marion E. Wynne, and Acting City Clerk/Treasurer Tyron D. Hoskins. Mayor
Timothy M. Kant and City Clerk/Treasurer Geniece W. Johnson were absent.
There being a quorum present, Mayor Pro -Temp Ford called the meeting to
order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and Reverend Stan Weatherford of
Faith Baptist Church gave the invocation. Councilmember Gentle so moved to
approve minutes of the 24 November 2003, regular meeting. Seconded by
Councilmember Quinn, motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Pro -Temp Ford announced that he had received a letter from Sam W.
Irby with Irby & Heard, P.C. requesting that the request to re -zone the property of
Regions Financial Corporation Tax Department from B-4 Business and Professional
District to B-2 General Business District with deed restrictions be withdrawn
completely. The property is located at the Northwest corner of Morphy and U. S.
Highway 98.
Councilmember Anders moved to grant the request of the March of Dimes
requesting the use of the Fairhope streets for the March of Dimes WalkAmerica 2004,
from the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Seconded by
Councilmember Gentle, motion passed unanimously.

Councilmember Gentle moved to accept the low bid of Circle Pipe & Supply
Company, Mobile, Alabama, providing all specification are met. Seconded by
Councilmember Quinn, motion passed unanimously.
Councilmember Gentle moved to pay bill as presented. Seconded by
Councilmember Christenberry, motion passed unanimously.
Councilmember Christenberry, as representative of the Christmas Parade
Committee, wanted to recognize all of the volunteers of the Christmas Parade
Committee and wanted to thank them for their hard work on organizing this year's
Christmas Parade to be held Friday, December 5, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. An
appreciation for the volunteers was held in the Delchamps Suite after the Council
meeting.
Mayor Pro -temp Ford wanted to congratulate the Daphne High School
football team for there great season and asked that everyone encourage the team to do
their best for the upcoming championship game to be held Saturday, December 6,
2003.
There being no further business to come before the City Council the meeting
was duly adjourned at 5:41 p.m.
