RESOLUTION NO. 690-00 EARTH DAY WHEREAS, Earth Day 2000 is Sunday, April 16; WHEREAS, the City of Fairhope is one of the sponsors of the Alabama Environmental Council's Bay Area Earth Day celebration; WHEREAS, the Bay Area Earth Day celebration will be held at the Fairhope Beach Park; and WHEREAS, the City of Fairhope wishes to recognize Earth Day 2000 and help "close the loop" by encouraging and promoting the use of: 1. recyclable materials, and 2. products made from recycled materials. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of Fairhope, Alabama that the City of Fairhope 1. Invites its citizens to the Alabama Environmental Council's Bay Area Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 16, 2000 from noon until 5:00 pm at the Fairhope Beach Park; 2. Commits to the use of paper with post -consumer content; and 3. Commits to explore the use of other cost-effective recycled and recyclable products. RESOLUTION NO. 691-00 WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama (herein called the "Council") has been informed by The Special Care Facilities Financing Authority of the City of Daphne -Villa Mercy (the "Daphne Authority") of the intention of the Daphne Authority to issue its Revenue Bonds (Mercy Medical Project), Series 2000 (the "Bonds"), for various purposes including certain properties lying with the City of Fairhope (the "City"); and WHEREAS, in order to provide information to all interested parties, the Daphne authority is required to publish notice of its intention to issue the Bonds and hold a public hearing for the purpose of hearing any comments that may be brought up by the general public in connection with the issuance of the Bonds. The public notice was published in The Bulletin and the Fairhope Courier on Saturday, April 01, 2000, for a hearing in the Daphne Authority in the Council Chambers of the City of Daphne on April 17, 2000. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Fairhope, Alabama approves of the publication of the hearing to be held in Daphne, Alabama on April 17, 2000, as advertised, and approves of that hearing; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City approves the location of the hearing in Daphne.
