HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-22-1993 Regular Meeting1511 STATE OF ALABAMA 0 COUNTY OF BALDWIN 0 The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at 5:30 pm; Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber; 161 North Section Street; Fairhope, Alabama 36532; on Monday. 22 November 1993. Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers John V. Duck, Michael A. Ford, David E. Bishop, Jeanette Puckett, and Layton Overstreet; City Attorney Marion E. Wynne and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips. No one was absent. There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting to order. Minutes of the 8 November 1993 regular session were duly approved. Councilman Overstreet moved to approve the request of the Eastern Shore Optimist Club to again hold their Christmas Tree Sale on the city lot on Section Street. Seconded by Councilman Ford, motion passed unanimously. Councilman Duck introduced in writing, and moved for the adoption of, the following resolution. Seconded by Council- woman Puckett, motion passed unanimously: RESOLUTION NO. 434-93 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, that Resolution No. 419-93: "RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE FAIRHOPE MUNICIPAL CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX" is hereby amended by the addition of the following: "27. Persons or groups renting main auditorium, Council Chamber, and Delchamps Suites shall have exclusive use of the Civic Center parking lot with exception of the spaces required by City Hall and the Fairhope Public Library. " ADOPTED THIS 22ND DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1993. x, Mayor Attest City Cler 22 November 1993 1512 Council reviewed an application for a Beer Off -Premises License by Charles R. Wright, dba RONNIE'S BAYSIDE STORE, located at 369 South Mobile Avenue. This location was formerly Jerry's Bayside Store and had this type license. No one present was opposed to the license. There was police approval of the applicant. After discussion, Councilwoman Puckett moved to approve the issuance of the license. Seconded by Councilman Overstreet, motion passed unanimously. Vernon, Il; Bell & Co of Mobile; Jemilco, Inc., of Jacksonville, Ar; Stoughton & Assoc of Birmingham; and United Utility of Prattville. Prices are Evaluated Total Cost, cost price indicated below: A. Councilman Bishop moved to accept the low bid by Brasfield Sales (Cost $8,700.00), provided all specifications are met. Seconded by Councilman Duck, motion passed unanimously. B. Councilman Bishop moved to accept the low bid by Brasfield Sales (Cost $21,120.00), provided all specifications are met. Seconded by Councilman Duck, motion passed unanimously. C. Councilman Bishop moved to accept the low bid by Brasfield Sales (Cost $30,420.00), provided all specifications are met. Seconded by Councilman Overstreet, motion passed unanimously. D. Councilman Bishop moved to accept the low bid by Brasfield Sales (Cost $10,905.00), provided all specifications are met. Seconded by Councilwoman Puckett, motion passed unanimously. E. Councilman Bishop moved to accept the low bid by Hatfield & Co. (Cost $4,878.00), provided all specifications are met. Seconded by Councilman Duck, motion passed unanimously. Mayor Nix opened the floor for nominations for a three- year term on the Park & Tree Committee. Councilman Overstreet moved to re -appoint Dr. Howard Wulff. There being no other nominations, Councilwoman Puckett moved to close the nominations and re -appoint Dr. Wulff by acclamation. Seconded by Councilman Overstreet, motion passed unanimously.
