NOTICE AND CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
Notice is hereby given of a special meeting of the City
Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama, to be held at
the Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber, on
Monday, 29 April 1985, at 5:00 o'clock, P.M., for the
purpose of awarding a contract by resolution to the
lowest bidder on supply of Concrete Pipe for the
CDBG project, #L-SP-PF-84-034; and to make an Airport
FAA Project appropriation.
CONSENT TO HOLDING OF MEETING
The undersigned members of the City Council of the City
of Fairhope, Alabama, do hereby acknowledge service of
the Notice and Call of Special Meeting hereinabove set
forth and do hereby consent to the holding of such
meeting at such time and in such place and for the purpose
set forth therein.

STATE OF ALABAMA
COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session
at 5:00 o'clock, P.M., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Monday, 29 April 1985.
Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers Roy C.
White, David E. Bishop, Michael A. Ford, and Barney L. Shull;
City Attorney James Reid and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips, Council-
woman Trisha Nelson was absent.
The purpose of this special session was to award a contract
for the supply of pipe for the CDBG Project #L-SP-PF-84-034,
and to make an appropriation of General Funds to the Airport
FAA project.
There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting
to order.
Council read a report of the bid opening on various quanities
and sizes of pipe to be used in the CDBG drainage project. The
following total bids were received:

Councilman Bishop introduced the following resolution and moved
for its adoption. Seconded by Councilman Shull, motion passed
unanimously: "

BE IT. RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE
as follows:
As per the recommendation of CDBG Project Administrator Werneth
and City Building Official Lunsford, we, the Mayor and Council,
hereby award the following contracts to the named lowest bidders
for the supply of various quanities of pipe to be used in the
Cocm=ity Development Block Grant Project #L-SP-PF-84-034:
Concrete Pipe, as requested in bid package, to
Sikes Pipe Company . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $24,300.00

The Airport has a federal grant for expansion in the
approximate amount of $1,700,000. This is a 90/10 grant; the
City's share to be 10%. As per the Airport Board's request,
Councilman White moved to authorize an appropriation of General
Fund monies up to $28,973.69 (part of the 10%) for use by the
Airport Board on the project. Seconded by Councilman Ford,
motion passed unanimously.
Meeting was duly adjourned.
