The Fairhope Airport Authority met January 19, 2016 at 4:40PM in the Delchamps
Suite, Room 1, in the Civic Center at 161 N Section St.
Present: Joe McEnerney, Chairman, Ray Hix, Tom Scheck, Vince Boothe, Chip
Groner, Jack Burrell and Pam Caudill. Also present was Josh Myrick, attorney.
Cynthia A Boothe took the minutes.
The minutes of the December 15, 2015 meeting were considered and approved
on a motion by Pam Caudill, second by Vince Boothe and unanimously carried.
Update on the development of a marketing plan for the Fairhope Airport: Pam
Caudill stated that she talked to LRD about a revised marketing plan and also has
an upcoming meeting with Hummingbird to see what they have to offer for a
marketing plan. Also, Joe McEnerney stated that the airport now has a phone
number that is forwarded to his email so he can return calls when needed.
Update on 2015 AIP project: Joe McEnerney stated that the east side earth work
has been completed and is grassed over. The west side drainage improvements
are almost completed and should be finished in about 15 days.
Update on the construction of the two commercial hangars: Chip Groner stated
that Mr Boan would like to move the location of his fuel farm at the Cedar Creek
hangar to the southwest corner and would also like to increase his ground lease
to extend out 20 feet to accommodate the size of his airplanes when they are
pulled out of the hangar. Joe McEnerney stated that these changes have been
forwarded to Bobby Odom at Volkert for review. After a group discussion it was
decided to table the fuel farm relocation until after it has been reviewed.
Development of a drone policy for the Fairhope Airport: Joe McEnerney stated
that a drone policy was needed for the Fairhope Airport before there is a lot of
drone traffic in the area so he and Tom Scheck will work on developing one.
Report from meeting with NSA Whiting Field and NAS Pensacola: Pam Caudill
stated that Terry Withee of 7336 Monk Road recently hosted a meeting for her
neighbors who are concerned about the number and height of flyovers in their
neighborhood. Also in attendance were officials of NSA Whiting Field and
Pensacola NAS. After giving an overview of the meeting and a group discussion it
was decided that Pam Caudill and Chip Groner would work on a study to see if
there are any noise abatement measures that the airport should implement.
Treasurer's Report: Ray Hix and Joe McEnerney stated that the financial reports
were in good order with only a few minor adjustments made when audited.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 5:40PM.
