Nix, Councilmen: David E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box and Barney L. Shull, Councilman 011ie Deese being absent, a b Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Sam Box that Council authorize expenditure up to $19000.00-for July 4th Fireworks. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Couneilman Barney Shull,,�ti that Ordinance No, 532, An Ordinance Annexing Described Property ?<,z Which Said Property Is- Contiguous To The City Limits Of The City Of Faairhope, Alabama, Such Annexation By Petition Of All Of The Property Omers Of Said Property. be adopted as introdueed. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Ed Bishop seconded by Councilman H. G. Bishop that the annual premium due with Travelers Insuranco Company for Workmen's Compensation in the amount of $6,449.00 be approved for payment. Motion carried. Councilman Sam Box introduced the following Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. y3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE N0. , SETTING METER DEPOSITS FOR GAS CUSTOMERS OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, LIVING OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY -OF FAIRHOPE, ALAS BAMA AS FOLLOWS: 1. ,; 1. To amend Ordinance No. --requiring meter deposits, by adding the following Sections. Section (A) For all Gas customers of the City of Fairhope living outside the corporate limite°of the City of Faairhope, there shall be charged as.a meter deposit for gas service`, at the time of hook-up, the following: (a) For all one -family residenoee, there shall --be a meter deposit for said residences of $20.00 '.. (b) For all mobile homes, house trailers, or other mobile unite, requiring gas service, a meter deposit of $25.00.' (,a) For all multiple family dwellings outside the City Limits of Faairhope, including Condominiums, apartments, duplexes, a meter deposit of $25.00 is required for each unit. 11 This Ordinance shall take effect upon its due adoption and publication as required by law. ADOPTED THIS THE /: � day of ��;, 1974• City Cle k Discussion was held concerning Yardarm application for Variance and the letter from the Board of AdjustmenV dealing with the application. Mayor and Councilmen supported the position taken by the Board of Adjustment in denying.the variance, Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that permission be granted as requested by Bobby Pope and David Wood,,that David. Wood's name be deleted-from,the Fairhope Municipal Pier lease agreement between them and the City of Fair - hope. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that the bid opening on the Sewer Collection Lines previously scheduled for May 7' 1974 be delayed to May 21, 1974 due to not having received wage rate schedule from the Federal Government. Motion carried. Y Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Sam Box that the Performance Bond for the East of the Sun Subdivision be accepted. Kotion carried. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Sam Boa that Mayor Nix be authorized to execute Power°of`Aitorney to First National Bank of Fairhope to endorse , City of Fairhope's H U D Grant oheoks as they'reoelve-them,.and �o>deposit them to the i972 Water and Sewer Projeot Account without the City's endorsement, as required by H, U. D,.;. Motion carried, The following bids were opened on 69800 feet. of- 6" .
