COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session
at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, on
Monday, Mardi 25, 1974 at 7;00 P.M. with the following members
present: Mayor James P, Nix, Councilman: David (Ed) Bishop, H. G.
Bishop, Sam E, Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull,
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
Mike Reje7yk3 Fire Chief, requested. Council to send five men to
Fire School in. Tuscaloosa, April 14 thru 19. motion by Council. -
man Shull. seconded by Councilman Deese that City authorize
expenditure to send five men to Fire School. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Deese. that City

ask for bids on 40' lengths of PVC water pipe. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman David Bishop that the following Ordinance
be introduced:

ADDING CERTAIN REgUIREMENTS DUE TO CONDITIONS
NATIVE TO THIS AgEA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAI RHOPE,
ALABAMA. that the, National. Electric Code be amended by adding
the following requirements due to conditions native to this area;
1. A minimum of 100 AMP meter and breaker installation
shall be required for all trailers.
P. .Any new home or upgraded service shall, have a minimum
entrance of 100 AMP with 12 branch circuits. Any new
home with electric heat shall have a. minimum of 200
AMP capacity with at least 24 branch circuits. All
panels, except power panel, must have a main disconnect.
3, For permanent residences, nor_metelic sheathed cable
No. 12 AWG Copper or larger is required. Switch
legs controlling only one or two ceiling fixtures
may be No. 14 AWG Copper. Aluminum or copper clad
F?_luminum smaller than No. 6 will not be approved.
This Ordinance shall take effect upon its due Pd.opti,:r q.nd

STATS HIGHWAYS LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE, LIMITS OF

BE IT ORDAIN M BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE.,
ALABAMA
To establish manimum speed limits upon State Highways in
Accordance with Title 21, S ctior. 78(22), Page 95, Seetion "g" of
the 1940 Code of Alabama, as recompiled in 1958, along and upon
State Hiehwa,ys located within the corporate limits of the City of
Fairhope, Alabama
SECTION 1. Along U. S. 98 Business Route from the North
Fairhope Corporate Limits, running 'South to Seminole Avenue, a max-
imum speed is hweby established at 45 miles per hour.
SECTION 2. Along U. S. 98 Business Route from Seminole Avenue
South to Fels Avenue; thence West to Mobile Street, the manimum
speed limit is hereby established at 35 miles per hour.
SECTION 3. Along U. S. 98 Business Route (Mobile Street)
from Fels Avenue, South to the South Fairhope Corporate Limits, a
a maximum. speed is hereby established at 35 miles per hour.
SECTION 4. Along Alabama. 104 from Baldwin County 11 and
U. S. 98 Business, 'East to Truck Route U. S. 98, there is hereby
established a speed limit (maximum) of 45 miles per hour.
SECTION 5. Along Truck route U. S. 98 from the North Fai.rhope
Corporate [..units South to Alabama? 104; thence along Al,aba.ma. 104 to
the East FaArhope Corporate Limits, there is hereby established a
maximum speed limit of 55 miles per hour.
SECTION 6. Along Trick Route U. S. 98 from Alabama 104 South
to 09,yfer Avenue, there is hereby established a maximum speed limit
of 50 miles per hour.
SECTION 7, Along Truck Aoute U. S. 98 from Gayfer Avenue
to the South Fairhope Corporate Uimits, there is hereby established
a maximum speed limit of 45 miles per hour.
SECTION 8 . Along Alternate Route U. S. 98 (Magriolia Avenue)
from Section Street, West and South to its junction with Business
U. S. 98, there is hereby established a maximum speed limit of
35 miles p-,r hour.
This Ordinance shall take effect upon its due adoption and
publication as required by law.
