COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met inregular session
at the City Hall, Monday, October 10, 1966 at 7:30 P.M. with the
following members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Spader,
Reynolds, Stipes, Gaston and Stine.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
A letter requesting installation of a Mercury Vapor Light behind
St. Lawrence Church was read, discussed and referred to Jack Kirk.
Letter from the Merchants National Bank of Mobile and Mr. Sam
Dyson, as Co -Executors under will of Mrs. Georganna T. Ives,
Deceased, cancelling the City's lease on Ives property on beach
was read. The Council requested that the City check the possibili
of purchasing this property.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Gaston that
the following Ordinance be introduced. Motion carried.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13 of Zoning
Ordinance No. 295•
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALA.
that Section 13, District Boundaries of Zoning Ordinance No. 295
be amended'as recommendeA by the Planning and Zoning Commission
by rezoning the following described property frov R-2 to B-1.
LOTS 7 & 81 Denton's'Sub-division.
Adopted this the day of , 1966.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes that
Moore Engineers be instructed to include Horton Lane, between
Pecan and Fig Streets, in the 1966 Street Improvement Program
provided sewer `line has been installed. Motion carried.
Letter of resignation from Mr. John Ferguson as'a member of the
Industrial Board was presented and accepted.
Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Reynolds that
Mr. Charles Earl be appointed to the Industrial Board to fill the
unexpired term of Mr. Ferguson. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stine that
$209000A0 be transferred to the 1966 Street Improvement Account
from the Electric Account. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that
the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes that
the salary of Edward Keller be adjusted accordinto rate
originally agreed upon, effective October 15, 1996. Motion carri
Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Reynolds that
the classification of Ralph Keller be changed from Groundman to
apprentice lineman at a salary of $1.65 per hour. Motion carried.
Mayor Ila.con appointed Jack Kirk, Bud Gilheart and Ack Moore as a
committee to study and present cost estimate on widening Fairhope
Avenue from Section street to Bancroft Street.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Coman Stine that the
meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
