Section St., Fairhope, AL.) • • Next regular meeting: Tuesday, September 18 , 2012 Minutes of the Fairhope Airport Authority August 21, 2012 The Fairhope Airport Authority met Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Room, City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street. Present : Chuck Zunk, Chairman . Members: Rod Platt, Pam Caudill, Joe McEnemey, Dan Stankoski Howard Hadley, Charlie Bassett, City Administrato·r Gregg Mims and David Bagwell, Attorney. Gayle Fogarty, City Executive Assistant took the minutes. The minutes of the June 19 meeting were considered and approved on a motion 1st by Rod Platt, 2nd by Howard Hadley and unanimously carried. Update on Aviation Training Center-Charlie Bassett updated the group on the training center, the memorandum agreement needs additional discussion before it can be finalized. Update on 2012 AIP Project for East Side -Chairman Zunk updated the group on this project, stating that It Is underway and the Airport Authority has approved and has signed grants from FAA and ALDOT, although ALDOT has not returned the signed copy as of today, there Is no unforeseen issue to prevent them from returning It. Chairman Zunk also added that the Airport Authority is now operating under the new FAA guidelines: FAA will reimburse at 90% not 95%. On this project, the state is going to reimburse 5% not 2.5% and the Airport Authority will have to provide 5% not 2.5%. Chairman Zunk noted that he sent committee members and a revised ALO (Airport Layout Diagram) by e-mail earlier today. The Airport Authority is obligated to maintain and keep current. It Is paid for by FAA and is part of a previous AIP. Discussion of potential development projects-Chairman Zunk noted that two or three entities may want to relocate to the Westside area and use the hanger and office space. He added more information is to come on this project, and will share with the group as it becomes available. Factllty upgrades and maintenance of Public Safety Hangar-Howard Hadley reported the roof Is not leaking, but more discussion is needed to complete the lease agreement. Chairman Zunk added that the Airport Authority agreed to fix the roof, install installation, and improve electrically and overhead lights. The state offered to pay the Airport Authority $20,000 to make all the Improvements. Factllty upgrades and maintenance of FBO main buildings -Howard Hadley stated that Ken Eslava has had issues with the roofer, beyond that Howard is not aware of the upgrades or maintenance on the buildings. Howard stated he will get with Ken for an update. Discussion of Airport Conferences 2012 & 2013-Joe McEnemey encouraged the group to attend the upcoming airport conference in Auburn, Al. He noted that the deadline to receive the reduced rate is August 22, 2012 . Pam Caudill and Charlie Bassett Indicated that they would like to attend. Joe noted 189 190 the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa in Point Clear, AL has been proposed as a location for the 2013 Aviation Conference, with an estimated 250 attendees and a hotel rate of $149. Treasure's Report-Chairman Zunk reported that there is no report, until the City of Fairhope completes their financial statement. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by acclamation at 5:03 p.m.
