County of Baldwin
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session
at the Town Hall, Monday, October 24, 1949 with the following
members present: Mayor T. J. Klumpp, Sr., City Superintendent
C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: Y. 0. Berglin, J. T. Bradford, -1. H.
Brown, E. B. Overton. and Ira Steele.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved.
Motion by Councilman Steele, seconded by Councilman Overton, that
the application of Sam Dyson to move and repair house on Section
Street be approved. Motion carried.
Notion by Councilman Berglin, seconded by Councilman Brown, that
contract be let for painting i",ater Tank. Motion carried.
Notion by Councilman Steele, seconded by Councilman Brown,'that
donation of lights to Boy Scouts for football game held Friday
night, October 14th be allowed. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Berglin, seconded by Councilman Overton, that
the following Resolution be adopted:
RLSOLUTION
WhEhEAS, moneys Isere deposited in the Bank of Fairhope by property
owners to pay for street paving designated as Fairhope Street Im-
provement 1948 Project, such fund in said bank having been carried
as a deposit account to 111948 Street Improvement Fund", and con-
struction of such paving having been paid for out of the Yunicipal
General Fund, and such 111948 Street Improvement Fund" is the prop-
erty of the Town of Fairhope,
NOW TNE�EIF''OI-cE BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council that the Mayor
and Clerk be and are authorized and required to transfer such 111948
Street Improvement Fund" to the General Fund to reimburse such
fund for the moneys paid therefrom for the construction of such
pavements.
BE IT FURTFILE I £SOLVEL that all moneys hereafter collected for un-
paid assessments of the cost for the construction of such pavement
be paid into the General Fund when and as collected.
Upon being put to vote for said resolution, the vote was as follows:
Voting Aye: T.ayor T. J. Klumpp, Sr., Councilmen: 171. 0. Berglin,
J. T. Bradford, R. H. Brown, E. B. Overton and Iral Steele.
Voting Nay: None.
The motion thereupon was declared to have carried and «-as ordered
entered upon the 1inute Books of the Town of Fairhope.
Motion by Councilman Steele, seconded by Councilman Overton, that
the City Superintendent be authorized to employ additional help to
make up tax roll if needed. IIrotien carried.
Motion by Councilman Bradford, seconded by Councilman Brown, that
Riviera Utilities be authorized to install three new transformers
and equipment for the Town of Fairhope for the sum of$350.00

Motion by Councilman Steele, seconded by Councilman Overton,
that Floyd Phillips be appointed Chief of Police. Motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn. Motion
carried.
