County of Baldwin
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular
session at the Town Hall Monday, November 8,,1948 with
the following members present: Mayor, T.J.Klumpp,
Councilmen: Y. 0. Berglin, J. T. Bradford, Brad Niemeyer,
E. B. Overton and Ira Steele.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and
approved.
The following bills were allowed:

Yotionky Councilman Bradford seconded by Councilman
Steele that the Town Council request the A.B.C. Board to
withhold action on the Casino Beer Permit until further
instruction by the Town. Motion carried.
T.!otion by Councilman Niemeyer seconded by Councilman
Bradford that the Mayor appoint a committee to determine
the cost of putting the.Golf Course in first class
condition. Notion married.
Motion by Councilman T!ierreyer seconded by Councilman
Steele teat Mr. Rickarby draw un'for discussion and
approval the granting of City Bus Line Franchise.
Notion carried.
Councilman Berglin offered the following resolution and
moved its adoption seconded by Councilman T'iemever.
VHTEREAS, the assessment of and on all property
and subjects to taxation liable for taxes in
the Town of Fairhope for the year 194F having
been made by R. C.Yohn the person designated
to assess such taxes, and having been returned
to the Council, all in accordance v,ith the la°•s of
the State of Alabama and the Town of Fairhope.
TFEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council
of the Town of Fairhope will sit between the
hours of 7: 30 P.M. and 9: 00 P . T:. on the 22nd.. day
of November, 1948 to hear and determine any and
all objections to such assessment of Town Taxes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the -Town
of Fairhope and the Clerk of the Town of Fairhope
be and they are hereby directed to cause notice
of such assessment of taxes, and of the time and
place for hearing ana determining objections there-
to to be given by publication in the Fairhope Courier -in its
in its issue of TT(-vember 11 and November -18, 194,B.
Resolution adopted.
Notion by Councilman Steele seconded by Councilman
TT emeyer that the Electric Department transfer ;;23,C00.00
to the Street Improvement Fund by 71arrant payable upon
receipt of -Street Improvement Assessment Collections.
Potion carried.
Uotion by Niemeyer seconded by Councilman Bradford that
the Traffic Light at Intersection of Yagnolia Avenue and
Summitt Street be changed to Stop Light on Summit Street
and Caution light on T,:agnolia Aven>>e effective Nov. 15, 1948.
Yotion carried.
