HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-28-1948 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAT: A County of Baldwin The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in relular session at the Town Hall Tuesday, September 28th, 1948 with the following members present:. Mayor, Howarc? Ruge, Councilmen: J.H. Bennett, C. A. Gaston, H. P. Kaiper, W. 0. Keeble and J. 0. Stippson. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Motion by Councilman Kamper secerided by Councilman Keeble that Smith, Dukes &- Buckalew be employed to make the annual audit for the fiscal year ending September 30th, 1948. Notion carried. Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stimpson that $5500.00 be withdrawn from the Electric Department and advanced to the Water and Sewer Department as a loan for the purpose of paying for 4,199 feet of 6" main recently rectived. Motion carried. Councilman Gaston offered the following Ordinance: ORDINATTCE ' 19 4 AT; ORTDIKAT;CE TO BE ENTITLED AN HRDITIATICE TO FIX THE COPIFENSATICN OF THE OFFICERS OF THE TO1'JT OF FAIRHOPE AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAY .`ENT THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TORN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIhHOPE: Section 1: That the salary of the IvIlayor of the Town of Fairhope, under Section 440 of T�ltle 37 of the Code of Alabama 1940 as ammended, be and the same is hereby fixed at $1200.00 a year, payable in twelve installments of $100.00 each, payable on the first day of each calendar month. Section 2: That the compensation of each of the Councilmen members of the Town Council of the Town of Fairhope be and the same is hereby fixed at $5.00 for each regular meeting attended by Councilmen, shall be payable for each month at,the first regular meeting in the nexk succeeding calendar month. Said ordinance having been read in full by the Clerk, Councilman W.O. Keeble moved that all rules, regulations and statutes preventing the final consideration and adoption of the same at this meeting be suspended, such motion having been seconded by Councilman J.H. Bennett was put upon its passage and was unanimously adopted, voting for the same, Yayor Howard Ruge, Councilmen: J.H. Bennett, C.A. Gaston, H.P. Kamper, ",.0. Keeble and J. 0. Stimpscn.
