City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street
Present: Chuck Zunk, Chairman; Charles Bassett, Joe McEnerney,
Mike Ford. David Bagwell, Attorney and Betty Rivenbark, Secretary
Absent: Ken Knutsen
The minutes of the October 16, 2007 were approved as presented on motion by
Charles Bassett, 2"d by Joe McEnerney and unanimously carried.
Volkert Supplemental Contract for AWOS-3 — Chuck reported on this saying it is
an on -sight weather reporting station and it will improve pilot safety. He said it
will take about 6-9 months to build after we get permit from FCC.
The cost will run $299,000 and does qualify for federal and state funding. It will
be constructed midway on the runway. Joe McEnerney moved to enter into this
contract. Charlie Bassett 2"d and motion carried unanimously.
Volkert Supplemental Contract for land use plans and designs — Chuck also
reported on this saying he and Charlie had been working on this with Volkert
and had previously delivered information to the board members. He said this is
for East-West side land use and involves site plan, environmental, drainage.
Charlie Bassett moved to enter into this contract, Joe McEnerney 2"d the motion
and it carried unanimously
FY2008 AIP-Pre Application - Chuck said he has already submitted this "wish
list" as it had to be in by November 15, 2007.
AL DPS Lease — A verbal agreement has been reached on renewing this lease,
and everybody has agreed to keep on as we have been doing, we just now
need to get everything in writing and signed. Mike Ford moved to continue the
lease as it was before, Charlie Bassett 2"d the motion and it carried
unanimously.
Treasurer's Report — The monthly statement was presented to the members.
New Business — Chuck reported that the Festival of Flight request for money
from the City Council will be heard Monday night. Charlie said they have
already approached the County Commission. A total of $167,000 cash is
needed and more for sponsorships. The festival has been cut to one day,
and has been set for the third Saturday in May.
Chuck explained to the members DAY JET and their interest in operating
out of our airport. He said they are based in Florida and are interested in
flying business customers only Monday -Friday and it would be a great thing to
have at the airport. There being no further business, meeting was adjourned at
4:30 PM.
