at the City Hall in the Conference Room
Present: Charles Zunk, Chairman; Charles Bassett, Ken Knutsen, Joe
McEnerney. David Bagwell, Attorney and Betty Rivenbark, Secretary
Absent: Mike Ford
The minutes of the September 18, 2007 meeting were duly considered
and approved as written on motion by Ken Knutsen, 2"d by Charlie Bassett
and unanimously carried.
Bell South Easement — This had been discussed previously at meetings and
Chuck reported that a satisfactory written agreement with Bell South could
not be reached, so he told them it was not going to work and the project is
now dead.
AL DPS Lease — Chuck reported this has been resolved and we have
received payment for last year and will be sending documents to be
executed for a lease for this year.
Land Use Plans & Designs — Charlie reported that he had not as of leaving
his office today received anything on this.
Treasurers Report — The members discussed the monthly statements and
determined we were right on target with what numbers show.
FY2008 Budget — The budget was also discussed and Chuck mentioned
there was money plugged in for the hiring of an airport manager and he
would be talking to interested parties. Also the Festival of Flight was
discussed and it was pointed out this is not a budget item. The members do
want to pursue this as Charlie said he has a verbal commitment from the
County on what they gave last year $29,500, and also from the City $51,000
including in -kind services on same thing. They feel if they get these
commitments we can get the difference in corporate donations. It still is the
consensus that we will pursue it knowing it is prefunded or not do at all.
Chuck brought up that November 15 is final deadline for submitting to FAA
Annual Project applications for funding for next fiscal year, and we have
submitted one through Volkert. He said we would like to get the ILS system
and that the Mayor has been working with our representatives on this. They
get discretionary fund monies so it is still a possibility. He said we have
gotten some money back on an '03 grant but since it was before the
authority was formed it went into the city coffers. That we have resubmitted
in hopes we will get $200,000 out of '07 budget.
Th a eing no further busi ess, meeting was duly ad'ourned.
