HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-11-1941 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session at the Town Hall, Monday, August 11, 1941 at 7:30 P.11. with the following members present: Howare Ruge, l'iayor, Councilmen: T.T.O. Berglin, Sam Dyson, C.A. Gaston, H.P. Kamper and J.O. Stimpson, the same constituting the full membership of the Town Council.. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved as read. Water 3.00 It was moved by Councilman Sam Dyson and seconded by Councilman C.A. Gaston that the application of kenneth Johnson for buildiig permit for erection of Neon sign,, be granted. k1otion carried. It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by Councilrtan T.T.O. Berglin that applicants for resident building permits show approved sanitary provisions. ],lotion carried. The following Ordinance number 159 tientitled:l An Ordinance TO FIX AND ESTABLISH THE GRADE OF TIC STREETS AND AVENUES, TT R, CURB ON EACH SIDE THEREOF, ALLEYS A-YD SIDE- VlALKS TO BE IT�N'ROVLD UNDER "STREET IT.. jM i I NT ORDINANCE ADAPTED JULY 28, 1941 NUTSBERED 159.' was introduced by,Gouncilman Sam Byson , redd in full by the Clerk and considered by the Council, the said Ordinance being as follows: BE IT ORDAIMD BY THE TOMT COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAITA, AS FOLLO1,7S: Section 1. That as and for the grade of the streets and avenues, the curb on each side thereof,, the alleys and the side- walks to be improved under "Street Improvement Ordinance of July 28, 1941, numbered 15`5 therebe and hereby is fixed and establish- ed the grade as shown and fixed therefor in and by the "Plan - Profile, Street Improvements, Fairhope, Alabama." as prepared and are on file in the office of the Town Clerk having been filed in the off ice of the Town Clerk of Fairhope on the 6th day of August,, 1941. Duly adopted by Alabama, at a meeting of A,1.gust,. 1941. the Town Council of,. the Town of Fairhope, thereof' regularly held on the llth day As JZa.yor iof the Town of DFairhope„ Alabama Attest:, It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by Council- man 11.0. Berglin that all rules and regulations of the Statutes of the Town Council of the Town of F'airhope which miCht prevent, unless suspended, the immediate consideration and final passage and adoption of said ordinance at this meeting. This question being put upon the adoption of said motion and the suspension of the said rules and regulations the roll was called with the fullowing results: Voting Aye: Howard Ruge,, Y-a.yor,: C.A.. Gaston, H.P. Ka.mper, -94M 1)ysonr„ 71.0. Berglin, and J.O. Stimpson, Councilmen: Voting Nay: None. iiayor-declared the motion carried. Councilman C.A. Gaston therefore moved that the said Ordinance be'finally'passed and be adopted as introduced. Councilman H'�- Kamper seconded the motion. The question being put upon the final passage and adopt- ion of the said ordinance, the Boll was called with the follow- ing results: Voting'Ayet Howard Ruge, I.Iayor; Councilmen C.A. Gaston, 11.0. Berglin, Sam Dyson, H.P. Pamper and J.O. Stimpson. Voting Nay None Thereupon, the I'layor declared said motion carried and the Ordinance finally passed and adopted.
