at the City Administration Building, 161 North Section Street.
Present: Colton Coile, Chairman; Members Chuck Zunk, Ken Knutsen, Mike Ford and
Joe McEnerney. April Westervelt, Assistant City Clerk. Absent: Mike Baugh, Charlie
Bassett and Betty Rivenbark, Recording Secretary.
The second draft of the minutes of November 13, 2006 meeting were duly approved as
written.
Request for Special FBO status — Chairman Coile discussed how the rent would be
determined. No action taken or required.
T-Hangar and Taxiway Status — Chairman Coile discussed bid received from Volkert.
Discussion on possibly leasing the office space prior to the taxiway being complete was
held, but no action taken.
Runway Construction — Chairman Coile reported that Phase 2 of construction was closed
and it has been agreed to accept Phase 2. An acceptance letter to the contractor has been
sent out, with a few items that need to be done. The following are some stipulations
mentioned in the acceptance letter, the lights must work and there must be a grass bond in
place.
Safety and Security Plan — Mr. Zunk stated that there was nothing to discuss at this time.
2007 Festival of Flight — Chairman Coile stated that a meeting was held last week, but
there was not enough time to go get through the entire agenda. The military VFA was
approved and a waiver for aerobatics has been received. At this time, the date and time
of the next meeting has not been set. Chairman Coile stated that he would send this
information out via email.
Status of transfer of Airport to Authority — Chairman Coile stated that this is on hold until
E.P. Peebles gets back into town on the January 16, 2007.
Status of bond issue for land acquisition — Chairman Coile there is no status as of today.
New Business:
Checking account has been opened. City Treasure Nancy Wilson has the checking
account information. The authorized signers on the account for the City are Mike Ford,
City Councihnember and Nancy Wilson, City Treasurer. The authorized signers on the
account for the Airport Authority are Colton Coile, Chuck Zunk and Joe McEnerney.
Austin Beasley Settlement — Discussed the status. No action taken or required.
McGowin Property — Mr. Ford discussed the survey's and requested from the City
Clerk's office a copy of the expansion deed between Mr. McGowin and the City of
Fairhope.
By -Laws — Mr. Knutsen discussed the status of receiving by-laws from area airports. He
requested to be put on the agenda for the next meeting.
RFP — Land Acquisition - Chairman Coile requested City Clerk Assistant to tell Ms.
Wilson, to begin the process for putting out an RFP.
There being no further business to come before the Airport Authority the meeting duly
adjourned at 4:40 PM.
