Runway Construction — Colton said they are identifying ruts on the property
and that we should not accept the project until they are fixed. Chuck said
they have not accepted the runway, he is waiting from information from Don
Brown on completing his punch list and then we will have a punch list to
complete. He said it is mostly done, just details left to do. Chuck shared
with the members copies of the three new approaches to the runway.
T — hangar status — Chuck said he has received 13 checks and there are
16 spots available. He said they still have a time frame to respond. He has
done a draft of the proposed lease and will forward it to everyone for review
and comments.
Public Safety Hangar status - Jim reported that Barry Fulford had approved
the drawing and the building permit has been issued. He said the hangar is
on order. Discussion was held on the slab and asphalt paving to it, possibly
get bids in early December. He said Rusty was suppose to call him but he
heard the lease has been signed but we have not received it yet. Colton
said we have two people interested in renting the storage space and
operating businesses. They would be Special FBO's.
Safety and Security Plan — The next step is to update the City Ordinance.
Chuck said he had a copy of it and he will get a draft to everybody. He said
we have submitted it to the State and that now we have to make sure we
are complying with it. He said he will meet with Ron, Chris Browning, and
PHI in the next 30 days and implement it. Jim had a list of equipment that
we need to get and install. Colton asked if the State would help with this
expense and was told yes.
Festival of Flight 2007 — Colton said he has a meeting next week and
eventually wants to include everyone in the committee eventually as it
is going to be a two day affair and will be much bigger. We will have
sponsorships and we need to think about people who might want to
sponsor it. He told of the different groups that have already contacted him.
Budget 2007 — A printout was given out on a budget for 2007. Discussion
led to Joe saying he will look it over tonight and get with Nancy Wilson, the
City Treasurer tomorrow about it.
Under new business — Colton reminded the members of the NBAA
Conference in Orlando October 17-19 and said as many as could should go.
It would be good for the airport.
