at the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street.
Present: Colton Coile, Chairman; Chuck Zunk, Ken Knutsen, Joe
McEnerey, Jim Garrett. Betty Rivenbark, Secretary
The minutes will be considered at the next meeting.
Roger Donohue, of Blueprint for Tomorrow was present and gave an
overview of what they hope to accomplish in the next five years. He said
they hope to create 3-4 positions have a full fledged Economic Development
Board, create tourism, full governmental affairs and be a facilitator for the
city and county. He said they plan to lobby for monies at the state and
federal levels. He said he does not understand the full scope of how it will
play out. He did thank the city and Mayor Kant for stepping up and told of
the pledges they have gotten. Ken Knutsen asked him how after five years
and the money spent how will they maintain the program. He said they plan
to hold quarterly meetings and nearing the end look at what has been
accomplished and see if the community wants to continue. He was thanked
for coming in.
Officers for the coming year were elected and by unanimous vote Colton
Coile was asked to consider acting as Chairman. Mike Baugh serves as
Vice -Chairman and Chuck Zunk as Secretary. Chuck Zunk moved to keep
same slate as last year. Joe McEnerney 2"d the motion and it carried
unanimously.
Discussion of Runway Construction - Chuck Zunk reported that most of it is
done and should be finished by 4/18. He said the lines won't be painted for
two weeks but substantially it will be finished. He said everything will be
done by the dedication. He also said he talked with the FAA a week ago
and they said then the VOR-Alpha would be done no later than tomorrow —
it still is not done. The drainage problems are ongoing and still talking to the
neighbors. A meeting is set up on April 27th with the FAA and Chuck Zunk is
planning to go he said if anyone else wanted to let him know.
Ken Knutsen told of plans for runway dedication and went over formal
invitation plans. He said the Chamber is planning to do the FAM tours on
Friday and lead into the reception. Colton mentioned other planes and units
he had heard were planning to come. They will meet again Thursday.
T-hangar status — Jim gave a report saying the bids will close out on 4/21 for
two 10 bay t-hangars and two 8-bay hangars. He said four bids came back
wanting more information and he feels we will get at least two back. He said
he will not be here at the next meeting but will get the information to Chuck.
The Fairhope Airport Authority met Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the City
Municipal Building, 161 N. Section Street at 4:00 PM.

Betty Rivenbark, Secretary. Absent: Mike Baugh, Jim Garrett, Mike Ford
The Authority went into Executive Session to discuss litigation and
ended the session at 4:18 PM.
The minutes of the March 14, 2006 and April 11, 2006 meeting were
considered and approved as written with one correction noted.
Runway Construction — Colton reported that it is substantially complete.
Chuck commented on the drainage issue, that it is not settled or completed
yet. Colton said he told Don Brown that it is not completed yet. An electrical
inspection is scheduled for tomorrow morning and the grass man needs to
finish up.
Runway Dedication Program — Colton said everything is going well they
have another meeting scheduled for 9:00 AM Thursday at Crestview.
T-hangar Status — The bid results for the proposed two new hangars
were discussed. Joe had also presented a Proforma for the construction of
the 16 T-hangars and that was discussed. Further discussion led to a
motion by Chuck Zunk 2"d by Colton Coile to accept the low bid of M.W.
Rogers for $499,818 and Proforma to include up to $50,000 for ramp work
and recommend approval of same to the Mayor and City Council.
Public Safety Hangar — Chuck said he has walked through the new public
safety hangar and there are a couple of leaks that need taking care of.
Mobile asphalt was out there working, they are ready to do a walk around
with the contractor. Colton said as soon as this is done Chris Gill will get the
lease contract filled in and up to the State.
Safety and Security Plan — Chuck said he has finished a revised draft but
it needs review by the Police Chief and a final review by us and then we will
send it on to the State. All agreed that this needed to be a restrictive
document with disbursement only to authorized personnel and a need to
know basis. A motion was made by Chuck Zunk that the Safety and
Security Plan be distributed only to persons described in the security plan
and anyone else must have prior written authority to receive it. Joe
McEnerey 2"d the motion and it carried unanimously.
Airport Authority Financial Base — This was put off for discussion until a
later date.
Meeting was duly adjourned at 4:50 P.M.
