•Feasibility study for new property was approved by council.
•Engineering services for the alterations/renovations of the stadium press box were
approved by council.
•The office/pavilion project at Founders is near completion. Just needing A/C unit in
Cole's office and this should be done this week.
•Becky, Cole, and I went last week and spent some time with Daphne Parks and Rec
staff to discuss how they operate their facilities and share thoughts and ideas on how we
may improve.
•The bathroom building at the entrance to the stadium was demolished and hauled off.
The contractor team will be mobilizing in the next couple of weeks to begin laying out the
foundation. We have rented a bathroom trailer for football events for overflow bathroom
usage.
•Parks staff refurbished the old F hedges at the south endzone of the stadium with
landscape edging and different colored Liriope in the shade of the cursive Fairhope F.
This should be more maintenance friendly.
•First varsity football game tomorrow night (August 22 nd) vs. Spanish Fort. Parks staff
have been busy preparing the stadium and field. The new lighting in the stadium is
impressive.
