DINHAM, ASSISTANT TRUST OFFICER Miss Marie Moore, Clerk City of Fairhope Fairhope, Alabama Re: City of Fairhope Water Works & Sewer Board Revenue Bonds dated July 1, 1950 #1135 RESERVE FUND 1F-6 Dear Miss Moore: Attention is called to the provisions of Section 8 of Article V of the Trust Indenture providing for the investment of moneys in the Reserve Fund and it is noted that income derived from such i.nvestme;it shall become a part of the Reserve Fund. At the present time income is accumulated to the amount of $1,309.50, which amount may be invested at the direction of the Board. You will recall that moneys in this fund were first invested in U. S. Savings Bonds Series G totaling $3,000.00 and when this series of bonds were no longer available Series K Bonds were purchased to a total of $10,000.00. It is now our information that Series K Bonds are no longer available, the issuance thereof to be discontinued as of May 1, 1957, and it therefore appears that if the above mentioned accumulation of income is to be invested a new Resolution will be necessary. If the Board does not wish to direct the purchase of specific issues from time to time, which may appear impracticablg we will be glad to make the selection of securities to be purchased if the Board will by Resolution authorize us to invest and reinvest the funds from time to time in U. S. Government Securities maturing within five years from the date of purchase. %Merchants NationalBankofMobile — 2 — Miss Marie Moore, Clerk May 1, 1957 It is suggested that the wording of the Resolution might be along the following lines: BE IT RESOLVED by the Water Works and Sewer Board of the City of Fairhope, Alabama that funds accumulated and to be accumulated in the Reserve Fund created by the Indenture executed by the Board on July 1, 1950 be invested in U. S. Government Securities in multiples of $1,000.00, such securities to be in bearer form and to have a maturity date within five years from the date of purchase. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as funds accu*ulate in the Reserve Fund, either through the maturity and payment of securities presently held or through the accumulation of interest and earnings from securities held, shall from time to time be reinvested in U. S. Government Securities having a maturity at the date of purchase within --five years from such date. We shall appreciate a word from you with regard to the above at your convenience.
