Dear Mr. Snows
Lay 2%, 1956
This is to a,;knowledge your request of lay 21,9 1956, for
a "Permit to Uee" the new well at Fairhope,, Alabama, 'Vle hove
raceived one savpla for bacteriological analysis from Bell No.
3 that vias collected by Pete ';Iggias on gay 11 1956. The
results of this examinat'1.0n shoves a high plate count and was
unsatisfactory. The permit to use the additional well w1hich
has a depth of 479.5 feet is Lein-' issued with the understand—
ing that it will be redisinfected.
The results of the chemical analysis of a sample of the
well water made by Lar, and Go-r4)any shows the Iron content as
0.97 p.p.m. There is a no.e at the bottom of the raport stat-
ing, "Sample as received -vas clear and free of settling
This may be true but -;,-ith 0.97 P.P.m• of iron it woul' app
ear
unusual to say the least.
With the Increased use o.' this well$ it appear3 that
additional aeration would be desirable. It is suggested that
a now additional aerator be provided.
Yours very truly,
