HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-08-2005 Regular MeetingThe Airport Authority of the City of Fairhope met Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at
the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street at 8:00 AM.
Present: Susan Mason, Chairman; Colton Coile, Chuck Zunk, Mike Baugh,
Mike Ford. Betty Rivenbark, Secretary
The minutes of the January meeting were duly approved as presented.
Colton Coile went over with the members the meeting that he had attended
with Esfeller, and Barge Waggoner to discuss the current project. He said
Esfeller is committed to correct the damage. He said further Mike
understands what it will take to get it finished. He said he is still having
problems with the south 1/3 of the runway with moisture and compaction.
He said they met with Austin Beasley and Mike said he told Mr. Beasley he
would do whatever he wanted him to do. They decided to put rip rap in bin,
make a horn to disburse the water before it hits Mr. Beasley's property. He
said he was out there yesterday and they have started the project, that
everybody is on the same page. He also said he visited with Annette
Montgomery and she is concerned that there are no fire hydrants. Mike
Ford said he will call her and explain how it works. Sue said because of
Esfeller messing around we might have some money through liquidated
damages to put into the safety hangar after we pay Barge Waggoner.
Colton said Chris Cross said he would talk to Mobile Asphalt and see if they
will keep going into the second phase.
Sue said she is waiting for the Troopers to come to the table and write down
the actually put pencil to paper on what they want inside the building.
Colton said he had sent Brian Lewis an e-mail on the T-hangars. Best of
all would be for them to build them. Chuck asked about the Police Academy
and Sue said they are definitely interested, that they are going to be
uprooted at Faulkner, but we could not house them without receiving rent
and they still might be looking for something rent free.
Colton said he would follow up on letter to Sessions about ILS.
Mike Ford asked that it be recorded that the Authority offers their sincere
condolences to Sue Mason in the loss of her husband, Bob and Jack Nelson
in the loss of his wife.
The authority members also discussed possible projects at the airport and
Sue made recommendations for appointment s to fill the two vacancies we
now have on the board.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
