Section Street Present: Chairman, Sue Mason; Mike Baugh; Colton Coile, Charles Zunk, Jack Nelson, Mike Ford. Secretary, Betty Rivenbark. The minutes of the November meeting were duly approved as written. On the project update, Sue reported that she and Colton Coile and a representative from Barge Waggoner met with Estfeller on the job site on December 16t" and informed them that they were only 13 work days from liquidated damages because they were not working. She said she thinks they finally got the message that they will be charged. Chuck Zunk asked if making them hurry up and complete the project will affect the quality of the products they use. Sue reassured them that everything will be quality tested before it is used and it will have to be up to standards required. She also told him that we have an engineer on site who is also watching everything being done. She said the next phase will begin the first of March. The ILS system was talked about and the Mayor has talked to all our representatives and been promised the system by '06. Colton Coile said he will follow up with Sessions office and we need to send a letter again in February. Sue said the next project at the airport would be the Public Safety Hangar being put on a prepared red dirt pad 80 X 80 that is ready to concrete. She said it is too small for a commercial hangar and there is a taxiway throat built to it. She said the State Troopers would like to have a hangar to store a 3`d and 4th airplane there that 2 are already in the big hangar. Chris Browning said we are in an enviable position having the State Troopers here and a Satellite office would be a good thing for them, as we all know the growth going on and our jurisdiction is huge but we have worked out something with the Sheriff's office to help patrol. It would be a good base for the southern end. Different ways to make it accessible to the public without breaching security were talked about. Sue said she is looking for 5 years down the road, that FAA has already committed $150,000. Different ways to fund it and complete were talked about. She said we needed to locate an engineer who would be willing to donate his time and it would be a very viable project. Mike Baugh asked about the front part of the building and its status. Sue said Teledyne has not responded. Sue said again what an asset it is to have the troopers there and that we want to keep them there. Chris Browning offered that the only way to grow is east and south. Sue offered for consideration a motion to proceed with the trooper hangar project, Mike Baugh 2"d the motion and it carried unanimously. All said they would be on the lookout for an engineer willing to help. Sue, the Chief and the troopers will sit down and talk and put something down on paper. The Mayor came in at this time and offered that Bryan Lewis, head of Teledyne, had just left his office and told him that the Honda deal fell through, they won't be coming to Fairhope. Sue brought the Mayor up to date on hangar for the troopers. He said he was all for it and had discussed it with the chief. Chief Browning also mentioned that the Southwest Police Academy was looking for a home maybe that would be a possible business for the front of the building. Sue gave the group an update on 06-07 funds application and said we would be submitting pre -applications, she said what she sees as our highest priorities is acquire more land and straighten the west side of the airport all the way to Bishop Road, and with the amount of land be able to put in new hangars, with the concurrence of the board she would submit for land, hangars, terminal, she said parking is not allowed now. She said we need to be prepared, go ahead and submit to keep in line. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
