HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-09-2004 Regular MeetingThe Airport Authority of the City of Fairhope met November 9, 2004 at 8:OOAM at the City Administration Building. Present: Sue Mason; Chairman. Colton Coile, Jack Nelson, Mike Ford, Charles Zunk. Betty Rivenbark, Secretary. Absent: Khim Vira, Mike Baugh Mrs Mason opened the meeting by welcoming new member Mr. Zunk to the meeting. The minutes were considered and approved as written. Sue went over the status of the project and said that we were real lucky we only had a little bit of erosion from the hurricane on the project. She said we were lucky to not have had a major setback, there is a little bit of erosion and we hoped to have asphalt by Christmas. She also said we have money for 3-4 layers of asphalt, change lighting, and change the runway into a taxiway, do the vault and generator. She said the FAA will cover all storm damages. She also talked about ILS system we hope to get and Colton Coile said he will make contact with Jeff Sessions and Jo Bonner. The T-hangar project was talked about and she said that this is still in the works, need to come up with some plans, but remember we need a reversion clause if the city does not do it. Sue said we are applying for 07 grant money and the first priority is acquiring land, 2"d set of T-hangars and corporate hangars. Mike Ford asked under old business about the building in front. Sue said it has been over two years that we have been working on this with Teledyne. Mike also reported he had a nice talk with Mason McGowin and Mason said he would like to see any future plans for airport. Sue said we could invite him to come to meeting and talk about long range plans. Colton Coile said we need to hurry up and get the damage fixed. Sue said the insurance adjuster finished out there ten days ago. Mike Ford said he would talk to Tommy Long. Sue mentioned the new manager at Teledyne, Ron Humphries, and how nice he is to work with. An aerial photo of the airport was talked about and Mike Ford said he would contact County about it. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned. There was no December meeting.
