The Fairhope Recreation Board met Wednesday, August 21 at 5:15 p.m. in the Rec Center at 803
North Greeno Road.
Present: Cathy Hudson, Corey Martin, Vann Saltz and Charlie Langham. Absent: Jay Robinson,
Bob Keyser, Tom Kuhl, Michelle Smith and Derek Thomas. Pat White attended representing the
Recreation Department and took minutes.
The meeting was called to order by Charlie Langham at 5:20 p.m. The minutes of the July 17,
2019 meeting were considered and approved on a motion by Vann Saltz, seconded by Corey
Martin, none opposed.
Old Business: Charlie Langham stated that the $15,000 the Booster Club requested from the City
of Fairhope has not been considered by the City Council at this time. Charlie added that Recreation
is waiting on the track to be resurfaced, and on the plans from the architect and engineer to make
the stadium ADA compliant.
New Business: Pat White provided an update on Recreation activities: St. Michael High School
football game will be held tomorrow night and soccer is underway. Pat added that he did not have
any updates on the budget.
Vann stated that fall baseball is getting started.
Cathy informed the board members that swim is underway, 91 kids are signed up, and 3 divers are
on the team. The meets begin September 24 and will be every Tuesday (except one) for six weeks,
she added that they are trying to get new blocks for swim.
Corey inquired about the park at the Rotary Club. Pat stated that he didn't have an update on the
progress of the park.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:32 p.m.
