Eddie Boyett, Recreation Director, Betty Rivenbark, Secretary Absent: Mike Ford, Sherry Sullivan The minutes of the August 20 and September 19 meeting were duly considered and unanimously approved on motion by John Baker, 2nd by Derek Thomas. Charlie turned the meeting over to Eddie who gave an update on current projects: Tennis Building and Letter - Eddie mentioned the letter that had been sent to the Mayor and said that the complaints about the facilities were unwarranted especially about the grounds. He said when the tennis courts were at Volanta they only had bathroom facilities when the pool area was open and we are working on getting a building out there as soon as we can do it. He said the bids were sent out and only two were submitted but were high, $389,000 so it is being rebid on October 30th. The facility is great and is being used constantly. Barnwell Building — He said at this point we are waiting on Aaron to get the poles in, that we can't do anything until this is finished but we are going to do a bare bones building, mainly because we don't own the property and it will look like the one that used to be at Stimpson Field. Rec Center - He said the bids were sent out September 25th for the metal building and foundation and that the Mechanical, HVAC and Plumbing will be let soon, he said he calls Rich Mueller every day. Skate Park Update — Eddie mentioned to all that we had received a $25,000 donation to the skatepark and this along with the state monies should be enough to get the park built. He showed the plans again and said John Baker is working on this for us. Did not have a time frame at this time. Youth Basketball — It will begin next week, October 20th. He said due to the traffic having to come through the pool area he is having to keep a lifeguard at the pool until everyone is gone to make sure no one gets in the pool. Pool Floors — He said these are being painted, just upkeep and maintenance. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned at 6:00 PM There was no November or December meeting.
