Charlie turned the meeting over to Eddie who reported that the new field house and restroom facilities were finished. He reported that Scottie Wilson had been rehired. Mike Ford reported on the status of the 40 acres, the Barnwell contract with the Catholic Archdiocese, and said that he went over to Mobile today to talk with David Wilton at the diocese. The lease had been reworked and sent over but there was a problem with the clause that said we would have to leave in 60 days was taken out by their lawyers and since Archbishop Lipscomb is retiring this year he did not want any changes for the new Archbishop to have to deal with so it will be reinstated. This is still ongoing. Acquiring other properties was also talked about for the needed facilities. Eddie went over the proposed expansion of the gym, pool, five year plan. Mike said the bond issue for this should come up at the November 13tn meeting of the City Council and Jenny asked that all the Recreation Board members be notified so they can attend.
