Charlie asked Eddie if he had anything new and he said no, he was
supposed to meet with the skate park group next week sometime and he will
be reporting back. He said he met at the stadium with John Baker and Rich
Mueller to talk about the new building and learned the process of getting it
done; that it would be Wayne who would have to bid it out, after bids opened
send to Council for approval, order building, then do slab work, etc., he said
all in all he hoped that it would be in by football season. He said further that
they have just been doing hurricane recovery and repair, slowly getting back
to normal — so far worked on Founders the girls softball field, worked on
Stimpson, that they were fixing lights today and ordered new nets. He said
they are still waiting on fence repair. He was asked if he made a list of what
he could do in the future to prepare for hurricane and he said yes, he has
learned by it. He also said he is two men short so he is getting out and
working with them, he said he is in the processing of hiring someone to help
out. He also reported that he has a new gator and new paint machine.
Under new business, Charlie told of coming up and talking with the Mayor
and that the Mayor told him he wanted something that set out "dollars" and
he has talked to Jack Russo about putting together cost for moving tennis
courts to Stimpson Field. That we also need to come up with dollar amount
for the Recreation Center. That the mayor is interested in all the projects
but seeing dollar amounts help him see what can be done.
Vann asked if we were also going to redo the restrooms at the top of the hill.
Eddie said we had to get up other building first and see what could be done.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned at 7:10PM
