The pool is on schedule and is close to budget with final numbers expected within 30 days. General discussion was held. A discussion was held on the proposed skate park pertaining to the location of said park. The proposed site behind the K-1 Center has fallen through as the city is seeking grant money to fund part of this project and it was decided that the site would be somewhere at the Fairhope Municipal Park on Volanta Avenue. Several alternate locations were also discussed but consensus was that it should be at the municipal complex. Eddie will now get with Christopher Baker to complete the grant application for said park. The park will be approximately 7200 square feet. Trisha McMahon then brought up for discussion youth baseball and its boundaries and what children could play in the Fairhope Youth Baseball League. Policy states that only children within the Fairhope School Zone may participate in said league. Trisha has had a few people voice a concern that this policy is not being adhered to by the Fairhope Youth Baseball League. After a brief discussion it was decided that Eddie would discuss more with Vann Saltz, who is also a member of the Fairhope Youth Baseball Board. Vann will discuss this situation with the board reminding them of the policy in existence and reminding the baseball board that any variance from said recreation board policy must be okayed through the Fairhope Recreation Board. There was a brief discussion about possible sites for a new tennis complex. The possibility of a grant for a new tennis site was also discussed. Further info to be gathered on this. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
