Vann reported that soccer opened their season at the new complex Saturday. He was
excited, everything went well and we'll have another year for the grass to grow, super
facility. Eddie said everyone worked up to the last minute because they had to get it
ready. Vann said we have 627 kids, 60 teams. They sold 15-1700 dinners. Eddie said
that the lights were just ordered last week, that they are getting them ready but until the
concession stand is finished to run the electrical cords to it may still be November
before everything finished. Bob Callahan asked about the soccer signs. He was told
there is no fence going around the field per se but there is a fence on the property line,
should be no problem. He will get with the soccer coach. Also, his guys are putting
the bleachers together.
He reported last meeting the lady that fell at the football stadium and said this claim
has been settled. He said if the high school erects a fence we can move the youth
football there and get some of the wear and tear off of Volanta Stadium. We need to
work towards that for next year. He reported the adult softball league did not make.
The budget was talked about and a copy presented to each member(in file). Eddie said
he felt real good about plans for next year. He and Tim worked on it together. He said
they may have a'/ day program next year at the hangout for summer.
The planned new press box was talked about and other projects we need to think about
including the old concession stand at Volanta. All thought it would be a good idea to sit
down and prioritize what we need to work toward.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
