Section Street Present: Sue Mason, Chairman; members Mike Baugh, Khim Vira, Mike Ford, Betty Rivenbark, Secretary. Bing Miller, FBO at airport representing Teledyne Continental The minutes of March 12, 2001 meeting were duly considered and approved as written. The purpose of the meeting today was to consider a letter of request from Teledyne Continental requesting a reduction from their monthly rent of $7,000 to $3, 500 for the rest of the year. This request came to the mayor and went to the city council the council at their meeting recommended it come back to the airport board for their consideration. Mr. Miller went over the changes Teledyne had over the past several years, their mergers and now they are in their second year from a spin off as Teledyne Electronics. He said that in Mobile they had laid off 25% of their workers and that Teledyne in Mobile subsidized him. He said he did not want to downsize, therefore the request of reduction in rent. Mr. Miller was thanked for coming and was told he would be advised of decision. After he left and in discussion it was determined that the City's debt service is $3,500 a month and we would have to meet that. Teledyne has been a good tenant and we would not want them to have to close. Sue asked Mike what he knew of the situation and he said Teledyne had been bought and sold many times, he has done business with them for many years. Further discussion led to all agreeing to reduction to $4,000 a month until the end of the calendar year. At that time it will be reviewed and if a further request is made justification will have to be provided. A motion was made by Mike Ford, 2"d by Khim Vira to approve this request as a one time only to lost only until the end of the calendar year. Motion carried unanimously. Mike Ford said that this would be taken to the Council at the May 14 2001 meeting. Sue gave an update on current application for new airport runway. She said we have had all necessary reviews and will be holding a public hearing on the environmental assessment in June. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
