Richard recognized Jim Phillips who had written a letter(in file) and wished to
express his concern about the new disc golf course that is being built at
Volanta Park and runs along the northwest end of the park which is about 30 ft.
from his house. He said he wished to inquire what our plans are and how far
we plan to go. He said his concerns are smoking in that area as there are dry
leaves, and that it is an isolated part of the park and may be open to intruders.
It was explained that is a frisbee golf trail, basically finished, and Eddie
assured him that if he had any problems he should notify him that this hole
could be moved if necessary. He did say that so far they have been getting
along okey and asked if we could post some no smoking signs. He was very
appreciative of the information and cooperation.
The minutes were considered and approved as written. The bills were
considered and were approved for payment.
Eddie was asked what the status of the new sign was and he replied that we
are getting bits and pieces in hopefully within 4-6 weeks everything finished.

this Saturday, April 18"'. He went over the things they had done and said they
are practicing every night so some things have to be last minute, he said they
are redoing the mounds, they fixed the fence and the dirt piles moved, that he
has talked to Jim Godfrey said rest assured everything will be done by
Saturday.
He also reported that on the Founders Park the fields have been disced up and
that he understands the city will be out there in 2 weeks to start work. Mike
Ford said he had talked to Aaron and that he said that the lights would cost
$15,000 a field for softball fields and half as much for soccer fields. He said he
has also been talking to Coach Tyler and told him if school purchase
equipment the city would put up lights. He said the coach asked about the city
hiring the coaches for the summer and our policy in the past has been
we provide the facilities and they put on the programs and get all the
monies from these.
