The Founders Park was discussed and Phil reported that he has been given the
okey to go with bidding for materials for the softball fields and parking lot. It was
asked how far off would the soccer fields be. Phil said he did not know, it was
asked how much more would it take to do the soccer fields and it was
determined $30,000. It was opinion of all that this should not be done
piecemeal, once started finish the whole project.
The letter from the girls high school softball program was considered(in file).
Bob Callahan related his conversation with them and that he asked them to put
on paper what they are actually asking for resulting in letter of request to move
back to Volanta and redo old field. This was discussed at great length with all
options considered. A motion was made by Charlie Langham, seconded by
Larry Thomas to write them a letter explaining that we had looked forward to
accommodating them at the new Founders Park that there will be five softball
fields there and this would most certainly be a solution to their space and
scheduling problems. That we had hoped this would be their home field. Bob
Callahan said he planned to go and talk with them on Thursday and asked
anyone who wish to join him. Motion carried with four votes, Bob Callahan
opposed to motion.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
