The bills were considered and approved for payment on motion by Larry Thomas and seconded by Charlie Langham. Larry mentioned, that the John Pomeroy tournament talked about at the last meeting fell through. Eddie talked to the board about the new building. That it will be used for basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer could have aerobics and plan for a walking track, that we are looking into the cost factor for this now. Clay Adams, the architect, said that being a metal building structurally not built to support this. That it is planned for next to the pool. The board talked further about the aesthetics, how we could make it look attractive... some suggestions being put seal on building, another, have the offices low and have 2nd story high. He said there would be an office, meeting room, concessions in lobby, storage, the possibility of cutting down the lobby area and having one double door in middle was discussed. It was mentioned that we would bid out the concrete slab w/plumbing in it, that there would be 25 ft. between the building and the north end of the pool. That we would have carpeting on playing area. All thought plans presented were good. Eddie also mentioned that the soocer practice field at the high school was complete. Bob Callahan asked how the board felt about having a college soccer game at the stadium at no cost, the board asked when and he said he is checking to see board's feelings, nothing firmed up yet, but possibly October. Larry Thomas said he would be willing to waive the fees if we can arrive at a time together and put that in the form of a motion, Trisha McMahon seconded and motion carried unanimously. Bob to get with Eddie. The board discussed that it was again time to charge the high school for use of the fields for the home games, there being 5 this year and the charge is $300 per game for a total due of $1500. It was the consensus of the board that this fee should be charged therefore Bob Callahan made a motion to send a bill to the high school charging them for the five home games this year $1,500 for use of the city park facilities for the 1996-97 year. Larry Thomas seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Possibly doing a mail -out from the school showing what the city provides was suggested. Eddie said he would talk to Terry Knight and see if we could not get this done. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
