Rae went over with the board the plans for May Day which she had to move to May 16th due to conflicting activities at the beach area, she told them what activities she had lined up and then asked Phil if he would see that the tables are washed down, the bathrooms clean and get the May pole. He said he would The tennis program was talked about and that the young man who was present at the last meeting called back to say that he did not think he could run it. Stanley said Steve Sims had mentioned something to him and he would check further with him about it, it was suggested calling Howard to see if he had anyone he wanted to recommend. The batting cage construction was talked about and how it is progressing and the board brought up the problem they are having with people driving around and parking behind the fields after the guy wire has been taken down. It was suggested bringing this to the attention of Rick Cleveland and seeing if we could stop the coaches from doing this first, then we would maybe have to change the locks if that doesn't work. The board told Phil to enforce. this as it looked bad as well as being dangerous. Richard said he had gotten some calls about scheduling at Stimpson. Phil explained to him that he was called about a tournament being cancelled but Linda also told him that she called Vaughn Kelly to see if he wanted to use the fields and he said no. Mike Ford brought up what was planned to do at the swimming pool. He said that the board had informed him that it was almost impossible to get insurance since the diving boards were still up. That we really might to have to consider in the near future taking them down if we want to keep the pool open. The board asked if the paving of the parking lots was still in the program and Phil said that it was his understanding that they were. All agreed that we really do need to do it. Phil said he has not been able to find anyone to fix the raised section in the bathroom yet, a couple of names was given to him. He reported further on what the man found who was checking the pool and that Pep is going to drain it and refill it and then he can fix the 2 leaks in the bottom. Other than that everything is okey. Phil was directed by the board to move the tables from over at Stimpson Field to Volanta. That they don't need to be over there. Larry Thomas asked the board to be thinking about, down the road, where we could possibly build two more softball fields for the little people. That he had been talking with some of the people and they were questioning the possibility. Different sites and possibilities were discussed, just something to mull around, no definite commitments being made. Charlie asked about maybe putting a fence up at the old field at the kindergarten center so it could be used. This is a possibility. Richard Bass said he would like the board to be thinking about when we could get together to set a policy for Stimpson Field. That we need to do that like we did at Volanta. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
