He said that their director's meeting is February 7 and they will take that under advisement then but he foresees them making another donation towards the sprinkler system at Stimpson Field. It was commented that also the girls softball association might make a donation towards the sprinkler system installation. Mr. Thomas went on to say that they had at least 500-600 kids in the program last year, very successful. That Robert had made 2 fields for them at Volanta to practice at and that had worked out very well. Rae said that she wanted to say that we appreciate the parents working with the program also, that it could not have worked without their support. Mr. Thomas did ask about the situation with the health depart- ment and he was told that we had not received anything further at this point so we are planning to continue as before. Charlie Langham had a resume from Rick Cleveland that Richard Bass had sent. He passed it out saying that Rick is interested in running a program at the tennis courts. It was talked about working it the same way we had worked Howard Threlkeld's agreement. Further discussion led to agreement to talk further with him let him know we are interested, what would be expected of him. The bills were approved on motion by Larry Thomas, seconded by Rae Jackso and unanimously carried. The work that Ron Pellitier was doing at Volanta ball fields has been com- pleted, he has been paid partially $1500 and Robert is ordering some extra sprinkler heads and we will put them in and bill him for what owed. With the extra work he did his total contract price was $2,021.96. Al reported that we need 3 sets of portable goals, the high school has committed to one, the soccer association did tonight and we need to get them ordered. He said that even though they will buy them they will give them to the Recreation Department to use where needed. He said they cost about $600 each. Al reported on the vandalism on the freshly reworked fields and that we had caught and worked out with everyone involved getting it reworked. The purchase of a tractor/mower discussed at the last meeting was brought up again, Al said that we are exploring other avenues, possibly a lease purchase. Also, trying to work a package deal with the spreader. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
