HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-10-1999 Regular MeetingThe Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met Monday, May 10, 1999 at 8:OOAM at the
City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street.
Present: Chairman Sue Mason; members Robert Coiling, Khim Vira, Mike Baugh,
Jeanette Puckett. Bing Miller from Teledyne Continental and Betty Rivenbark,
Secretary
The minutes of the March 1999 meeting were duly approved as written.
Sue reported on the bidding that we did on the 4 parcels at the airport. She said that
there was - 0- response. She said she got a personal call at home after the bidding
was over and when she talked to Tut Wynne about it he said once the property was
offered for bid it should stay that way.
Bill was not here to report on paving project. Sue asked Bing if he had any complaints
from the pilots and he said no. That all actually saw it as so much better. That it had
actually been paved 3 times and was not perfect but is something we can live with.
Under new business Sue said we had gotten back the amendment to the lease from
Teledyne and that she would take to the council tonight the request to lease the land to
the Fairhope Fire Department so they can get going on building a new fire station.
Khim reported that he had looked into getting the strength of the runway tested and that
he was quoted a price of 2-4 thousand dollars from Thompson Engineering. It was
commented that maybe we can find something in the old files.
Jeanette said she had missed the last meeting and wanted to know what the status was
on the buildings. Sue said that the mayor had promised that when Founders Park
finished he would get someone out to work on them.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
