AGENDA
I. Call to order at 8:00 am
II. Approval of Minutes from the March 11, 2024 meeting
III. Today’s Agenda:
• Discussion of Vacant PA position, applications received, status?
o Kelly Gribler Application
▪ Motion was made by Chad Bartz, 2nd by Chris Shrader, all in favor to
submit to the City Council for formal approval.
• Parking solution objectives. Let’s agree and align moving forward. We agreed on three
top priorities.
• One way street initiatives:
o Discussed meeting with Mayor and Council to discuss other possible streets.
o Parking Garage Usage Study – Will utilize the city’s “vehicle counter machines”
for the garage. We will utilize the machines in May and July to capture the
Memorial/4th holidays. We will discuss the number of daily guests from the
Hampton Inn during this time frame and back out the number of cars during
the time frame.
▪ Utilize the findings for a fact-based approach to the parking issue.
• Valet
• Public Education process
• Business Owner education approach
o Address the ongoing and increasing load/unload challenges with delivery
vehicles.
▪ Discussed delivery time frames.
▪ Areas where they could park on both ends of Section Street
IV. Other topics discussed:
o Theater 98 Handicap Parking
• Agreed to allow them to utilize one or two parking places (block them
off with cones) for handicap purposes during events.
Ongoing visits from the Director of Planning, Mayor and Council members. –
Involvement is crucial to the success of implementing solutions to the parking
problems. We thought another approach is to have them in our meeting before
making any presentations to the council during their workshops,
V. New Business – Unloading from delivery trucks was discussed and added to the
priority list.
VI. Set next meeting date. – 8:00 am-May 6th History Museum. We will spend
approximately 30 minutes in the room and plan to walk around downtown to look at
any other one way candidates, parking areas for delivery vehicles, etc. Let’s plan
about 45 minutes on the walk and wrapped it up by 9:15.
