HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-15-1989 Regular MeetingThe Recreation Board of the City of Fairhope met November 15, 1989 at
7:30 p.m. at the City Administration Building, 161 N. Section Street
Present: Don Smith, Rae Jackson, Richard Bass, Al Johnson and
Betty Rivenbark
The Board recognized the Girls Softball Assoc. new officers that were
present, they introduced themselves and said they just wanted to come
up and let the Board know who they were. At this time they brought up
the Health Department letter(copy in file) and what the Health Dept. says
we must do before next ball season. Don asked them if they saw problems
with complying. The 3 things they had listed were get hot water 'to rest -
rooms, a 3 compartment sink be installed, and that we have a canwash.
The Association said they can take care of the sink and we already have
a hot water- heater- there so hot water can be run to the restrooms. Seth
Moore was present and he said he could help with the installation. Don told
him to get with Phil and see what can be worked out. Mrs. Miller asked
the Board about who should be scheduling the games at Stimpson. Margie
was present and said that even though she is not involved that she would
like to continue scheduling as she did last year. Don asked if the girl' s
softball association was going to be running the concession stand and
turning the lights on/off. They said yes. Don then said that if this was
so that they should also be responsible for scheduling. The ladies then
said they were going to be registering in February and what were the chances
of using the field in March. They were told that this month is set aside
for maintenance and that they would have to get with Phil. That if he
got through and did not see anything wrong with it that they could use it.
They thanked the Board and left.
There was no one present from Young Street to discuss new letter that
Barney received.
The bills were considered and on motion by Rae Jackson, seconded by
Richard Bass were unanimously approved for payment.
The budget was discussed and on motion by Rae Jackson, seconded by Al
Johnson were unanimously adopted as presented.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
