Facilities Director Phil Rutherford and Secretary Betty Rivenbark The minutes of the February 17, 1988 meeting were duly approved on motion by Stanley Fant, seconded by Rae Jackson and unanimously carried. The bills were approved as presented on motion by Don Smith, seconded by Stanley Fant and unanimously carried. Under old business, Phil reported that he and Mr. Patrick had gone out and looked at the football stadium in an effort to determine a way to solve the problem with the band entering/exiting the field. They had decided that the portable bleachers around the end would not work. What they talked aboul was possibly building a walkway at the south end over the existing walkway into the bleachers. Phil said this cost should be no greater than $500.00. The board saw no problem with this proposal, asked that Mr. Patrick be asked to submit an official request regarding same. Mr. Feathers letter was discussed and the tennis courts resurfacing. Phil said he had talked to Jeff Combs and told him to go ahead with resurfacing at a price of $2900 for 2 courts. That was several months ago and nothing has been done yet. Stanley asked Phil about possibly moving the red dirt from under the oak tree at Volanta to the far edge of the field, Phil said as long as he has been here they have asked for it to be there, but he would move it. Phil reported he had hired Robert Northern hopefully as a permanent employee. Phil also reported on the progress of the golf course to date. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
